モザー氏が公開した新型iPod touch（第8世代）のイメージ画像では、リアカメラのデザインがiPad Air（第4世代）に似たものになっているほか、フレーム全体がフラットなデザインになっています。
同氏は、新型iPod touch（第8世代）は初代iPodの誕生（2001年10月）から20周年となる、2021年10月までに発表されると伝えています。
