LEGO Groupは、ポリエチレンテレフタレート（polyethylene terephthalate：PET、ペット）ボトル由来の材料で「LEGO（レゴ）」ブロックを製造しようとしていたが、二酸化炭素（CO2）排出量の削減につながらないとして断念した。
